The recipe of the Avèze gentian was elaborated
in 1929, in Riom-ès-Montagnes, by Emile Refouvelet. It was
an immediate success and Refouvelet patented it the following year
with the name "Auvergne Gentiane" which was to become Avèze
in 1962.
The only gentian drink that is made using fresh roots
from the Parc naturel régional
des volcans d'Auvergne, and this is where Avèze gains its unique
taste, one that is appreciated by all connoisseurs.
Avèze gentian is the only one to have
earned the quality label "Produit du Parc naturel régional
des volcans d’Auvergne". In addition to the origins
and authenticity of
the product, this label rewards craftsmanship and a commitment to
respecting the environment
With a growth of 10.6% in sales volume for 2006, Avèze is boosting the market as the brand of gentian that showed the highest growth in 2006.
