The dry arid soil of the Rousillon region has,
since time immemorial, been used to grow grapes. Thus it was
that in 1295, Arnaud de Villanova created the first Muscat de
Rivesaltes by adding alcohol to fermenting grape juice which
enabled the wine to retain some of the grape sugar. This manufacturing
method known as "mutage", results in sweet wines with
a naturally rich taste.
The leading brand of Muscat de Rivesaltes with 23.4% of market share volume.
The small-seed Muscat and Alexandria Muscat varietals
make the Valauria Muscat
de Rivesaltes a flavour-filled wine that is pale gold in colour, with
a touch of citrus and exotic fruits.
New to the Valauria range, Amaé is an original
recipe based on Muscat wine and the natural flavourings of orange
flower and roses. This aperitif gives a fruity, delicate and flavoursome
feeling, in particular appreciated by women. With its translucent
pink colour, its subtle flavour and fresh taste, it is the promise
of a moment of relaxation and sweetness to be shared by all.
