In 1822, Claude Morin, a member of a family that had
lived in the region since the middle ages, founded the maison Morin
Père & Fils in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
The maison Morin Père & Fils proposes a
range of white and red Burgundy wines which represent the main appellations
of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits.
In addition to their wines, the maison Morin Père
& Fils have developed a speciality line
in the production of marc de Bourgogne. Obtained by distilling the
leftovers from the grapes (stalks, skins and seeds), marc is a traditional
Burgundian eau-de-vie.
The cellars of the maison Morin are the oldest in the
town of Nuits-Saint-Georges. They were built in 1717 within the walls
of the old town and are an integral part of the historical heritage
of Burgundy and attract over 25 000 visitors per year.
