Benoît Thorin, the descendent of a family that
first came to the region in the 14th century, founded the maison Thorin
in 1843. Today, it is located at the gates of Beaujeu,
the historic capital of Beaujolais.
The maison Thorin works in close collaboration with
over 450 growers, carefully selecting and constantly supervising the
production of the smaller growers. They respect traditional growing
methods, hand-pick the harvest and use true Beaujolais vinification
methods overseen by oenologists.
Thorin's production site is equipped with ultra-modern
installations which add high-level technological capabilities to traditional
Beaujolais savoir-faire.
The wines of the maison Thorin are characterised by
their structured, rounded character, expressing both the fruit and
the special nature of the surrounding terroir.
The Terres de Thorin range express the characteristics
specific to the Thorin wines better than anything else, where the
terroir and growing methods give each wine its character and richness. As proof of its quality, this range is regularly awarded by the greatest wine competitions.
