The DeLoach family, whose roots go back to France
in the late 1600s, pioneered Pinot Noir winegrowing in the Russian
River Valley in 1971, and started producing commercial wines
in 1975. DeLoach has earned recognition as one of California's
premier producers of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel and
received many 90+ ratings and numerous accolades over the years.
Known as "America's Burgundy", the
Russian River Valley is considered an ideal place for growing
Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Fresh air from the Pacific Ocean
and night fog combine with the volcanic soil of this region
to create a particularly suitable environment, giving the wines
full-bodied and complex flavors.
DeLoach is moving from sustainable farming to
more intensive organic and biodynamic regimes. These practices
recognize that the vineyard is an integral part of the environment
and ecosystem, and must balance itself with the natural ebbs
and flows
of the earth, the heavens and the seasons. Simply stated, the winery's goal is to create distinctive wines that are authentic
to their terroir and varietal character.
In the heart of the Russian River Valley, DeLoach Vineyards features a newly-remodeled visitor center where guests can choose from a selection of limited-production, vineyard-designate wines available only at the winery. An organic garden provides produce, herbs and flowers for the tasting room and events. As pioneers of the region, our commitment from the vine to the bottle produces wines of exceptional character and distinction. We invite you to join us and experience a true Russian River Original.
