The Vineyard Designate tier is comprised of limited production wines from some of the region’s most acclaimed vineyards. Each wine is crafted to reflect the unique characteristics of a specific terroir and highlights the beauty and elegance of the grapes from that location.
These exquisite wines consist primarily of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel, many of which are available exclusively to our wine club members and tasting room guests.
Rated the #1 Wine of the Year in 2006 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, our 30th Anniversary Pinot noir is a true expression of our history in the Russian River Valley. Harvested lovingly by hand, this wine was made from the very last vintage of Pinot Noir grapes grown in front
of the winery before the vines were replanted using biodynamic farming techniques. After whole berry fermentation, we used traditional methods of crushing the grapes by foot, and then continued fermenting the juice with a variety of yeasts. The wine was placed in French oak barrels for final fermentation, lightly fined and allowed to age for ten months.
With a perfumed aroma of violets, classic Pinot Noir fruit, and a touch of blueberry essence, this wine displays
a mouthwatering kaleidoscope of flavors. Rich spices complement wild strawberries, hints of maple syrup, and touches of deep forest floor. Like crushed velvet on your tongue, soft and supple, this wine loves your mouth
