Within the highly regarded wine-producing region of Sonoma County is the Alexander Valley, one of California’s premier viticultural areas. High daytime temperatures are quickly cooled each evening with damp ocean fog, allowing grapes to achieve a delicate ripeness perfect for highly crafted wines. The Alexander Valley is famous for deep, luscious red wines such as Lyeth Red Reserve, a stunning Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Lyeth Red Reserve is only created when the winemaker feels that the grapes are of the very best quality and deserving of the Reserve bottling.

  71.5% Cabernet Sauvignon; 28.5% Merlot

  Clear, dark purple-red

Very fruit forward, with black cherry, raspberry and hints of cooked plums. Also, spicy vanilla notes from barrel aging.

Complex, dark and plummy flavors dominate the palate, with round tannins and a long finish that shows hints of maturity with black pepper and leather.

Best when served with rich and robust foods. Try meats with flavorful, herbed sauces. Tamarind, rosemary, lavender, tomato, bold cheeses and garlic are excellent choices.

Ready to drink now, but also an excellent addition for collectors. Hold up to 10 years for more flavors of leather, tar and mushrooms.
